Mechanics Needed
Mechanic, Journeyman Truck Diesel
Anchorage & Fairbanks, AK
Kenworth Alaska is a dynamic, progressive and growing truck dealership company in Alaska and we are seeking talented, qualified and experienced technicians and mechanics for our shop. This job is hot as you will have the opportunity to interview right away! We have a high volume of Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, generally powered with Cat and Cummins engines, Fuller transmissions, and Meritor and Spicer rear ends.
We have openings in both our Anchorage and Fairbanks locations. Our Anchorage branch has doubled its size with a new 14 bay shop and parts department remodel. Fairbanks has moved into a new, state of the art, 10 bay facility early this year.
Both locations perform engine repairs, gear train repairs, general repairs, preventive maintenance and vehicle alignment. Both shops do a lot of CAT and Cummins repairs and overhauls. Anchorage and Fairbanks do wreck repair and truck rebuilds and refurbish. The opportunity for overtime is generally available.
Alaska is a sportsman’s paradise. Anchorage is centrally located to take advantage of all the Alaska recreation opportunities. Fishing for salmon on the Kenai River or halibut out of Homer or Seward, hunting moose, bear or caribou, hiking the Chugach Mountains, snowmachining in Denali, or skiing at Mt. Alyeska, all within minutes or hours Anchorage. Fairbanks has many of the same opportunities, with many rivers, such as the Chena and Yukon, numerous lakes and pristine mountains surrounding the area. Fish for grayling or char, chase a caribou or black bear, or just enjoy all the varied terrain that Alaska offers.
